Stacey Haysler

Stacey is the CFO and COO of PostgreSQL Experts, Inc., in Alameda, California. She is a PostgreSQL Global Development Group Contributor and Vice President of the United States PostgreSQL Association. Stacey is the Chair of the PostgreSQL Community Code of Conduct Committee. She is also a principal organizer of the San Francisco PostgreSQL Users' Group and PgDay San Francisco, as well as conference staff for Postgres conferences in North America and Europe.

1. Tell us how you became involved with PostgreSQL.

   PGX hired me to do some Human Resources consulting for them. One thing led to another, and I ended up as CFO and COO.

2. What is your favorite thing about PostgreSQL?

   The community! Even though I'm not an engineer, I've felt included from my very first PgCon in Ottawa. People take you for who you are, not your job title, and that's not the case in every OS community.

3. What made you decide to become involved with PgDay San Francisco?

   How could I not organize a conference in my own back yard? I enjoy conference planning and management, and it's exciting to have our own event, right here!

4. What else would you like the world to know about you?

   My favorite city in the world is Florence, Italy. The perfect breakfast for me includes coffee and prosecco (not in the same glass!). Ask me about my fountain pen collection, or cufflinks—whichever one interests you most!
