Operations Committee
Katharine has been the very patient assistant for PGX's executive staff since 2015, and has a nice collection of passport stamps and conference badges to show for her time. She has worked as conference staff for PgCon (Ottawa) since 2017, PostgreSQL Conference Europe since 2016, and for PgDay Paris since 2017. She was also conference staff for DjangoCon US in 2016.
Tell us how you became involved with PostgreSQL.
I was hired as Executive Assistant by PGX 4 years ago and haven't looked back!
What is your favorite thing about PostgreSQL?
I don't work with the software directly, but the enthusiasm of those who do is infectious. I love being able to travel to different Postgres conferences and see that energy being shared among the community.
What made you decide to become involved with PgDay San Francisco?
I live in the Bay Area, so I jumped at the chance of being able to be deeply involved in a local Postgres event.
What else would you like the world to know about you?
I love to participate in historical re-enactments/events and have a lot of closet space dedicated to costumes of various time periods. Who knows, maybe one of these days I'll show up to a conference in one …
