Venue Accessibility

Mobility Access: Our venue for this year's conference is committed to making services accessible to all guests regardless of abilities and disabilities. Though the building dates from 1907, the Swedish American Hall is fully ADA-compliant, both in the function space and in the restrooms. The building entry is step-free, and an elevator serves all floors of the building.

Vision Accessibility
A section of seating at the front of the presentation room will be reserved for attendees with vision issues.
Hearing Accessibility
Live captioning of all of the sessions will be provided.
Service animals
Trained service animals are welcome in the venue. The nearest park is several blocks away, but the immediate neighborhood has small patches of green space for walking your dog. As always, please be responsible and clean up after your animal; there are trash cans on the sidewalks outside the venue for disposing of properly bagged waste.
Restrooms
Restrooms on the first floor of the building are gender-neutral, and marked accordingly. These restrooms are shared with the cafe on the ground floor. Restrooms on the second floor are marked "Men" and "Women", and are marked accordingly. These restrooms are accessible only to event attendees.

Please see the Venue page for information about transportation and travel options for arriving at the venue.

Quiet Room

A quiet room will be made available to all attendees. Need to do a bit of work? Do you need a quiet place to sit for a while and relax while getting away from the crowd? Regardless of the reason, we have a room available for that purpose.

Lactation Accommodation

The Hall also has a dedicated, private space to accommodate lactation needs. If you will require the use of the lactation room, please contact us so we can reserve the space in advance.

Food Accommodations

Attendees have the option while registering for the conference to provide any information regarding desired food accommodations or allergies.

We work with our caterer to ensure we can provide adequate nutrition options for every attendee based upon allergies and other dietary requirements detailed (such as Gluten, Nuts, or Shellfish allergies, or Vegan, Kosher, or Halal dietary restrictions). You must indicate your dietary requirements when you register, so we can give our caterer sufficient advance notice to plan the menu. If you did not include this information in your registration profile, please contact us as soon as possible, and at least two weeks prior to the event, so that the caterer has time to make the necessary arrangements.

Sustainability

PgDay San Francisco is committed to providing an environmentally friendly conference experience, involving an organized approach to using sustainable materials and processes throughout the event.

To that end, we have committed to several actions that will improve our environmental impact from the conference, including, but not limited to:

  • Recycling and composting systems will be in place with convenient and well-marked receptacles.
  • Our caterer is a Certified B Corporation. Each featured ingredient and component of the menu is sourced with the highest regard for flavor, sustainability, and seasonality. Our menus are created using local produce and sustainable meats and seafood.
  • Our caterer will also provide water stations, rather than individual plastic bottles of water.
  • While the caterer does use disposable service items, these are recyclable and/or compostable, and will be processed accordingly at the end of the day. While compostable cups will be provided, we encourage you to bring your own refillable beverage container(s).

Our team here at PgDay San Francisco hope these actions will assist with making the event comfortable for everyone. If there's something more you think we could be doing, please get in touch through our primary email address, contact@pgdaysf.org.
